Andrew Perkins

Professor of Haematology

Professor Perkins is Head of Blood Cancer Genomics at The Australian Centre for Blood Diseases at Monash University and The Alfred Research Alliance in Melbourne. He is Professor of Haematology at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. He is also a private haematologist at Melbourne Haematology, Richmond, VIC. Prof Perkins is an international expert in the genetics and biochemistry of transcription factors, particularly Kruppel-like factors (KLFs), and how they regulate blood cell differentiation in health and genetic disease, and cell reprogramming. He has developed NGS platforms for diagnosis and monitoring of blood cancers including myelofibrosis, and is a principal investigator on many international trials of novel therapies for blood cancers.
